The United States President Donald Trump has thanked the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for its immense help after a US citizen held captive in Yemen was set free to get reunited with his family yesterday.

President Trump tweeted that he “appreciated the support of the United Arab Emirates” after the US citizen Danny Burch saw his wife and children for the first time after almost 18 months.

Trump wrote on Twitter: “It is my honor today to announce that Danny Burch, a United States citizen who has been held hostage in Yemen for 18 months, has been recovered and reunited with his wife and children.”

Appreciating the help of the UAE, the US President further tweeted:

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo also wrote on Twitter, “The US welcomes the recovery of US Citizen Danny Burch held hostage in Yemen. Thanks to our partners in #UAE, @StateSPEHA, @USAinUAE, and the Hostage Recovery Fusion Cell for their efforts.”
