The family of killed Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi refused to appear in discussions with Saudi high commands for finding a resolution out of court, following the reports that the critic of Crown Prince had taken payouts.
The statement posted in the verified Twitter account of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi claimed, “ currently, the trial is taking place and no settlement discussion had been or is discussed”.
The Washington Post on 1st April reported that the children of Khashoggi, including Salah, had received multimillion-dollar homes and will be paid thousands of dollars per month by the authorities.
A Washington Post contributor, as well as a critic of the Saudi government Jamal Khashoggi, was brutally assassinated and dismembered at the consulate of the kingdom in Istanbul October, by a team of 15 agents sent from Riyadh.
His body had not been found. The powerful Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed Bin Salman has been accused of the involvement in the killing, but a local investigation discharged him. Initially, Riyadh told it were unaware about the actual happening in the Khashoggi’s fate, and later accused the rogue agents for his brutal death. Public prosecutor of Saudi Arabia has accused 11 people over the murder.
The son of Khashoggi told only the family and their attorney were sanctioned to “claim to be a source of information”.
The statement had not been entirely and publicly confirmed about the compensation from the Saudi King or Crown Prince, whom the family considered as “guardians to all Saudis”.
The statement said, “acts of generosity and humanity come from the high moral grounds they possess, not an admission of guilt or scandal ”.
According to the post , the payments to his four children including two sons and two daughters -, “ are part of an effort by Saudi Arabia to reach a long-term arrangement with Khashoggi family members, aimed in part at ensuring that they continue to show restraint in their public statements”.
The brutal assassination of Khashoggi has instigated the international schreeming and provokes to end arms sales to Saudi Arabia, which leads a regional military campaign combating Yemeni rebels involved to Iran.
US President Donald Trump has been considered as the strongest Western ally of Riyadh throughout the Khashoggi affair, contacting Crown Prince Mohammed on Wednesday for discussing “bilateral relations”, as per 6the report of the Saudi State News Agency.But Republicans and Democrats have both crawled over the apparent embrace of the kingdom and its leadership by the White House.
At least seven bloggers and writers – including two US citizens were detained in Saudi Arabia on friday, as per the rights groups , in the first severe elimination since Khashoggi’s murder. The detainment came the day after US legislators elected to end military support for the Sudi-directed war in Yemen, which has prompted what the UN states as the worst humanitarian crisis of the world.
The message cleared the Senate last month and now leads to the US President, who is widely envisioned to veto the legislation.
