Expo 2020 celebrates its 5th anniversary since being awarded to Dubai with a novel love letter to UAE this 14th February, Valentine’s Day.

However, not exactly five years ago to the day and Dubai won the award on November 27, 2013, makes it a 5-years, 2 months and 18-days exact. The novel love letter reminisces about the special occasion and counts a countdown of 1-year, 8 months and 6 days until the grand opening of Expo on October 20, 2020.

The novel love letter reads, “It feels like only yesterday that we began this journey together,” adding, “Can you believe it was more than five years ago?”

“Do you remember the celebrations that swept across our nation?” it speaks of that historic award winning in Paris- the city of love.

It continued, “As that day draws closer, the clock ticks ever louder. And when the world arrives, we’ll all be ready to greet them.”

“Thank you for walking this road with me, and for your support and love.”

“I can’t wait to welcome you, your loved ones, and millions from around the world,” adding that “With love Expo 2020,” it signs off.

For Expo 2020, things are going well. Route 2020 will extend the Dubai Metro Red Line from Nakheel Harbour and Tower Station by 15 km to the Expo 2020 site, which completed half-way as of December 2018.

New trains have already arrived in Dubai for special route and underway tests, the bridges along the route are almost complete and tunnel is ready, while station work is going on and the site itself is taking shape. Over 60 million work hours have almost completed and recent drone footage have released of the pavilions, where around 190 countries will be participating, reflecting rapid progress.
