An interactive writ of summons in Chinese has been adopted by the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, ADJD. Earlier other languages including English and Hindi have adopted writs so that the foreigners can understand litigation procedures.
According to Yousuf Saeed Al Abri, Under-Secretary at the ADJD, the initiative will help in simplifying the litigation procedures and improve the efficiency of judicial services. Al Abri also stated that the adoption of multilingual writs of summons, petitions, claims and request forms focuses to develop judicial services, in line with the ‘Ghadan 2021’ plan. It also aims to ensure transparency and provide customers with legal awareness through an interactive model of writs of summons. Writs of summons, petitions and request forms are available on the ADJD’s website.
