From Wednesday, a new franchise attached with taxi operations in Dubai including 100 taxis to the taxi fleet of the city. In the One Road Taxi operations, the first Chinese firm and seventh taxi franchise of Dubai to join taxi operations in the Emirate, unveiling the first batch of taxis at its Al Quoz depot.
The company is preparing to add at least 2,000 taxis along with limousines, ladies taxis and special requirements of taxis, by 2020, referring to the assumed escalation in demand in the leading to Expo 2020.
Mentioning to the Gulf News pursuing the initiation, Kevin Luo, the general manager of One Road Taxi said that the new attempt results escalating collaboration between UAE and China.
Luo said, “The cooperation between the UAE and China is improving and Dubai has the big and growing market with lots of opportunities to invest. We would like to add value to the taxi services here and represent the best of China and the UAE”.
The earlier batch of One Road Taxi adds 100 units of Toyota Camry, hence, the franchise prepares to initiate Chinese auto brands in the taxi market of Dubai with the commence of Hongqi H7 and H5 luxury vehicles for the limousine section of its taxi operation.
Luo says Oneroad Taxi is in the process of expanding its own taxi booking application which is likely to be functional in the next few weeks.
The new franchise is the section of the Roads and Transport Authority’s extension plan, insisting the escalating demand for the taxi services while planning for the predicted demand during Expo 2020.
