On Thursday, a video went viral reflecting a picture of intolerable football fanaticism. The video shows that a group of Asian men detained in a birdcage and several men forcing them to cheer for the UAE national football team.

Police have arrested several accused men in the case. UAE Attorney General in a statement said that legal action is being taken over the video.

The Attorney General also said that the behavior was a crime by law. The act was against UAE values of tolerance. Police have not specified how many men were arrested in the case.

For further investigation and action those accused men have been referred to public prosecution.

Police said the behavior in the video was against the customs and traditions of UAE.

Community members were advised by the officials not to misuse social media or post videos as a matter of joke. It may contradict UAE law, exposing themselves to legal accountability.
