On Thursday, Dubai’s Deputy Ruler Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum has laid the foundation stone for the Dh4.3 billion Dubai Commercity, which will be the first regional e-commerce free zone developed to boost the leading position of Dubai in the global trade.
The Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority (DAFZA) will construct the e-commerce free zone in Dubai, along with the partnership of all Asset Management Group, in Umm Ramool.
The Dubai Commercity will be developed in two phases. The first one is likely to complete by 2020 and the second one by 2021.
Director General of JAFZA, Dr. Mohammad Al Zarouni, and Al Wasl Group CEO Hesham Abdullah Al Qassim were also present at the event.
