On Monday, a drug addict has been alleged of harassing policemen and threatens them with a meat chopper after they raided his residence in search of illegal drugs, reports a Dubai Court of First Instance.

A Police officer from Dubai’s Police Anti-Narcotic Department said that a team of officers went to detain the 25-years-old Emirati convict at his home on October 4, in Al Ghusais.

The convict’s mother has allowed the police officers to enter his house and knocked on his bedroom door but he did not reply.

The police officer continued, “We entered the room and he was standing inside carrying a meat cleaver. He threatened to stab us if we didn’t leave the house.”

The convict desperately refused to be handcuffed and resisted arrest by punching and kicking the officers as they tried to take him under control.

The accused was taken to Dubai Police headquarters for a urine sample that came back positive for cannabis.

Prosecutors have charged the convict with assaulting the police officers, threatens them and consuming cannabis. On January 28, a verdict regarding the case is expected.
