A diamond amounted Dh300, 000 ($81,081) was stolen by a couple in Dubai. The highly- priced diamond was recovered within 20-hours on Sunday, reports an official.

The diamond was recovered in India, after 20-hours it was smuggled out of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It was taken out inside the stomach of a woman, added the official.

The Chinese couple has stolen the 3.27-carat gem from a jewelry shop in Naif area of Dubai on October 22, 2018, and on-boarded from the country on the similar day they theft one of the costliest diamond.

After discovering the missing of the diamond worth Dh300000, the owner of the shop has alerted the UAE Police. The incident was reported by the shop owner, 3-hours after the theft took place.

Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Merri, Dubai Police’s Commander in Chief said that “The couple was identified within a short time and with cooperation with the Indian authorities, the suspects were arrested in the transit area in India as they were trying to smuggle the diamond to their home country.”

Both the convicts were back on the first flight to Dubai, follows cooperation with Interpol.

After interrogation, they have confessed their guilt of robbery, said the UAE Police.
