Director of CIA, Gina Haspel will present a compact orientation to the leaders of multiple US Senate committees on the brutal murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, according to a familiar source, part of the planned meeting.

Some legislators were angry as Haspel did not take part in a Senate apprising by the administration of Trump officials in the last week on the death of Khashoggi at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.

According to the analysis of CIA, the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman instructed the brutal murder of Khashoggi, a renowned critic of the Saudi government.

The Wall Street Journal first detailed that Haspel would present a briefing. As per the last week briefing, the State Secretary Mike Pompeo and Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said that there was no solid proof about the involvement of the Crown Prince behind the brutal murder of Khashoggi and pleaded senators not to break ties with Saudi Arabia over the incident.

The source informed Haspel will inform the Democratic and Republican leaders of the Senate Foreign Relations, Armed Services and Appropriations committees, including that the Senate Intelligence Committee already had been notified by the Chief of CIA.
