The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of United Arab Emirates has banned the operation of all Boeing 737 MAX 8 models in UAE airspace, reports source.

In a statement, GCAA said that the ban was a part of the precautionary measure, which was taken after the Ethiopian Airways plane crash.

It further said that GCAA will “continue monitoring and re-assessing the situation as more information is obtained about the accident.”

FlyDubai is the only airline operating in UAE, MAX 8 and MAX 9 aircraft.

More details are awaited.
