A man who belonged to Filipino was found among the 17 people who lost their lives in the horrific bus crash in Dubai, an official confirmed to the reporters on Saturday.

On June 6, Thursday, a tourist bus was carrying total of 31 people on board from Muscat, Oman, collided onto a height barrier in Dubai. In the accident, 17 people were killed.

Among the reported fatalities 12 were Indians, two Pakistanis, an Omanian, an Irish national, and a Filipino. There was also a German citizen reportedly on board the bus.

The accident is being considered as one of the worst road accidents in the UAE. The accident took place when the tourist bus crashed into a height-limiting barrier towards a metro station at 5:40 pm. The accident caused because the driver entered the road which was not designated for buses towards Al Rashidiya train station.

The Council General of the Philippines in Dubai, Paul Raymund Cortes confirmed to the sources that a citizen belonged to the Philippines among those died in the deadly accident.

The Philippines had been informed, citing protocol observed by the Philippines’ Department of Foreign Affairs, he added. He provided no further details.
