More than 149 people died in road accident last year in Abu Dhabi. However, the number is 25 percent drop from 2017, when 199 casualties were lodged.

Calculating the annual statics on road accidents in UAE last year, Abu Dhabi police reports that a total of 120 motorists has received injuries, which is quite low from 2017 was 149 death.  

The total percentage of casualties per 100000 residents in UAE also reflects an improvement, as it has dropped from 5.72 to 4.2 in 2018. Meanwhile, the number of major wounds also declined from 4.2 to 3.3 per 100000 resident in the UAE. Death caused by run-over accidents in 2018 was also decreased by 38 percent, when compared to that of 2017.
