In Dubai, five public beaches have received the global accreditation for 2018-19 to rise for the first time, the Blue Flag.

Beaches in Umm Suqeim 1 and 2, and in Jumeirah 1, 2 and 3, fulfilled all the requirements that ensure observance with standards of the program. The list includes- environmental education, seawater quality, public safety and services, environmental management, which will bring value to the society and environment of the Emirate.

Dubai Municipality Director Dawoud Al Hajri said, “Dubai public beaches getting approval for using the Blue Flag is an affirmation of the Municipality’s commitment to make the beaches a tourist attraction and an aesthetic destination. They offer modern services, comfort and security for all segments of the society.”

The accreditation was granted to all the five beaches by the FEE (Foundation for Economic Education) for one-season and aimed at sustainable development of marine life and beaches as well.
